"Ich engagiere mich!" was the motto for the 37th poster competition organized by the Deutsches Studentenwerk. With this poster called "Make the difference", I reached the semi-finals and was one of the best 112 entries in Germany out of a total of 808 posters.
Creating it was a very difficult process. As the topic was left quite open, there were many different ways to design the poster. In the end, however, I decided on this design. It strikes a good balance between criticizing our understanding of society and motivating us to make a difference. The high contrast between the many uniform figures and the single, helping figure was used as a design tool. The placement of the helping figure in the overall composition also plays an important role.
In the course of creating the variants, various tests were carried out to see how the contrast and above all the helping figure itself could be better emphasized.
Many other ideas were also worked out at the beginning of the work process, but these were later discarded and are therefore not listed here.
